Detyens Shipyards Niche Boutique Cruise & Ferry Market is Flourishing

Several years have passed since large cruise ships have dry docked at the Charleston, SC based Detyens Shipyards (DSI), but that has not been the case for the smaller boutique cruise ships and passenger ferries. In the calendar year 2017, DSI will have repaired or dry docked over a dozen “passenger style” vessels. Repairs include everything from routine dry dock maintenance to complete interior overhauls. DSI operates 3 graving docks and one floating dry dock with a capacity to dry dock vessels up to 229 meters LOA by 33.5 meters in breadth, has over 8000’ of deep water repair pier space, extensive crane and logistical services, and well equipped machine and hull shops that are ready to service your vessel upon arrival. DSI employs a flexible cross craft trained workforce that delivers quality workmanship at competitive rates while upholding safety above all else.
